REUNION 2010 - DAY 2

CRAZY ERICKSONS
PART DEUX

Sunday found the Ericksons enjoying a warmer Spring day in Colleen's large and beautiful back yard
catching up on family news
posing nicely in front of the snowball tree

(you too, guys!)

Jenelle's kids, Maddie, Lucas and Preston (with friend) had really grown up since I'd seen them last
in fact, there had been a lot of growing-up going on in the Erickson clan...
Isabelle enjoyed Colleen's snowballs very much...

Kylie made a friend forever

and so did Bailey

the food was delicious

the younger cousins had a 'snowball' fight...

Prissy and Brad brought the girls flowers for their hair from Hawaii

What a good looking bunch!

We had a good turn out

The Nixes and their 2 1/2 kids came all the way from Texas.

Mom, at 93, enjoyed having her family around her.
I just love this photo of her...
James and Todd found they had music in common after jammin on the guitar and uke the night before
beautiful smiles

Kristin's friend Adam fit right in...

Matt had recently taken up Yoga...

James and his uke

When everyone had finished eating, Jenelle rounded up the male members of the clan and announced a 'sexy legs' contest
Judges were chosen.  You could tell who they were by their eyebrows.

I actually never knew Kristin was part Klingon...

Mark kicked off the contest with a casual tip toe
Brad had a little help from Prissy

Keith strutted his stuff . . .

and rallied the crowd...

Todd showed off some fancy footwork...

Jon was a crowd pleaser

Scott really worked it...

the judges conferred... and selected 3 for a walk-off

But in the end it was Todd's gams that won their approval..

.
they were unanimous..

.
and a little perplexed . .

.
at the strangely migrating eyebrows. ..

Sara awarded the ribbon and crown
yeah... it says 'Diva"...

he's simply known as 'sexy legs' now...

congratulatory hugs from runners-up Scott

and Adam - good sports all

Todd bows to his public

hmmmm, those eyebrows do get around. . .

Next, it was to the front lawn for the 3 legged race.
a concept that was a little challenging for some . . .

whoops!

but Kristin and Adam crossed the finish line in record time...

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, it was time for cookie judging -
Dave and boys Evan and Jared take their job seriously. .

.
THE WINNER!

the family meeting came next as we caught up on all the family news

phew....

I don't know about you, Bear, but I'm tired!

So, missed all of you who couldn't make it!  Hope to see you next year - but wait, I don't think we decided where!.....  any ideas?

REUNION 2010

CRAZY ERICKSONS!!!
DAY ONE
BARBECUE AT MURRAY PARK

It has been a while since we were able to come to a reunion, and even longer since I'd been to Murray Park.  It was a wonderful setting. . .
beautiful views . . .

lots of tall shade trees . . .

a musical stream . . .
complete with ducks and geese . . .
right next to our family barbecue spot!
we bundled Mom up, because the weather was a little cool . . .
especially for our eskimo sister, Prissy . . . er, I mean Hawaiian sister...
you can tell they are related . . .
they quickly became known as the 'freezing aunts'
Cousin Angel had to leave early . . .
She didn't want to miss the start of the race . . .

That's the Indianapolis 500!  You go, girl!
those of us who stayed behind had plenty of things to do
like exploring the playground. . .

(some needed help getting to the high places. . .)
hanging out with favorite people. . .
kicking a soccer ball around with your cousins. . .

rolling down a grassy hill . . .
giving a great big hug to a great big dog . . .
or just relaxing . . .
and not everyone was chilly.... some were hungry . . .
so Gene got busy. . .
and fired up the grill . . .
(we have him on the pyro watch list . . .)
yummmmmm!
and while we ate we visited with family and old friends . . .
some older than others. . .
old friends, old cousins, old uncles, old aunts . . .
some not so old
and some new friends, too - hi Adam!

some were furry-er than others
some not so furry (sorry, couldn't resist!)

Here are the chefs of the day looking calm, cool and collected
and here's what they looked like earlier . . .

putting a reunion together is hard work! - thanks to all who worked so hard to get us together!

The Hodge/Nix clan decided they'd had enough practice on the jungle gym at the park and ventured out to Moab after dinner for some real rock climbing.. . .

and a family hike at Arches National Park
Stay tuned for Crazy Ericksons - Part Deux!
